這首歌是 sheena Easton 在 1982 年所發表的
但卻沒有因她演唱而大紅大紫過, 即使到今天
反而在 1989 年, 由 Bette Midler 所主演的 “Beach” (中文片名 “情比姐妹深”)
也由她來主唱這首歌當作主題曲
讓 Bette Midler 拿下生平第一次的 Billboard 排行冠軍
也在當年獲得葛萊美獎「年度最佳唱片」及「年度最佳歌曲」的肯定。
不過, 並不是因為我早在 1989 年前就聽過這首歌
由於先入為主而無法接受重唱的歌曲
之所以一直無法接受 Bette Midler 這種幾乎哀嚎的唱腔
是因為相對於 Sheena Easton 的款款深情
有可能是因為電影的包裝
讓這歌曲配合劇情而達到震撼人心的效果
不過回頭去聽 Sheena Easton 所唱的
也不盡讓我懷疑所謂的世俗呵
我也曾經為了誰唱的好聽跟國中同學爭執過
爭執過後當然是不會有答案的
他還是喜歡他的 Midler
我, 依然沒買過 Midler 的 CD
而是不斷的尋找 1982 年發行的那張專輯
初衷未曾改變過
